| **What inspired you to start modeling?**I never thought about modeling until I started college. I was told by a number of people that I should try and get into modeling so I took a chance on something new and I loved it! At first, I looked at modeling as an experiment to see if I could go anywhere with it and once I realized I did have the potential to get booked, I took modeling very seriously and became inspired by all the fashion magazines and runway shows. Studying them became my homework and I learned a great deal about how to model just through observation. Looking back now, I am so glad that I decided to take a risk, even though I knew I would be judged, because I would not be here if I hadn’t.
**Are you going to college, if so what major?**
Yes, I am a junior at Arizona State University double majoring in Dance Performance and Communication.
**What are your aspirations as a model and how do they differ than your personal aspirations?**
My aspirations as a model include working for major clothing lines, modeling high fashion, and doing as much print work as possible for various magazines and clothing companies. I have always admired the models in advertisements who could make anything look good, and who really knew how to sell a specific style. I view fashion and modeling as an art and I feel a deep satisfaction being involved in anything artistic, whether that is modeling, photography, dance, or singing. My main aspiration will always be to join a professional modern dance company, but if I am involved in anything artistic throughout my life, I will be the happy and at ease with my accomplishments and lifestyle.
**If you were to be described as a brand, what brand would you be?**
This is a hard question because there are so many different characteristics about myself that encompass various brands. However, if I had to choose one I would choose BEBE; their clothes represent the sophisticated, level-headed business women who enjoy a stylish and fun lifestyle. I feel I am a classy, sophisticated lady who likes to remain mysterious, but at the same time reveal who I am to the outside world in tiny pieces. Like their clothes, I will add a bit of color and excitement to my life (generally by making people laugh) but still remaining poised and respectable throughout anything I do.
**What photographer have you enjoyed shooting with the most?**
I have enjoyed working with Joel Contreras the most. He is funny, professional, and easy to work with on set. He knows his lighting and is very good at post-production as well. I appreciate his attention to detail and his ability to see how pictures bring out the best in me emotionally and physically.
**UNIQ means so many things for so many people, what does being UNIQ mean to you?**
When I think of UNIQ, I think of a talented and diverse group of people who are fully invested in their passions. I am grateful to be a part of UNIQ and truly hope the best for everyone involved. Being UNIQ to me, means I have the opportunity to carry out my passion for modeling, make new connections with people, and learn from professionals in the industry.
**What attribute about yourself do you like the most?**
I like that I have the ability to make people laugh in awkward situations. I am usually the one to break the ice because I stopped caring long ago what people will think or how they would react. I am always comfortable being myself and making jokes, especially if that will make others smile or laugh.
**What are some of the challenges (if any) that you've had to over come as a model?**
I learned quickly that my height is a huge disadvantage in this industry, but still not impossible to become a successful model. I am 5’4’’ so it’s hard to be casted for high fashion jobs. However, I have realized overtime that with hard work, experience, and the ability to be comfortable in front of the camera, even a short woman can quickly become a thriving model. I have also learned the importance of professionalism throughout my career.
**When talking with other photographers and hearing feedback from companies like Fish N' Chix calendar, 7th Heaven Calendar and many others, that you have an unforgettable smile, easiest to work with, etc. How does that make you feel and what advice would you give new models breaking into the industry?**
It is always wonderful to hear positive feedback from a shoot and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to hear any appreciation of my hard work. I would advise new models breaking into the industry to always feel comfortable in front of the camera, take care of you, both physically and emotionally, to ensure the uttermost professionalism, and to understand the flattering angles of their face and body. I would also advise to be nice to everyone they work with and remain kind even when others are offensive.
**Is eating healthy and keeping a regular gym regimen something you like or a dread each week?**
I enjoy being healthy and active so I look forward to exercising and eating right. It is easy for me to receive daily exercise as a dance major through various dance classes and multiple rehearsals. I stay in shape mostly through dance, but I do hit the gym every so often for a nice, long run. I love running when I get the chance. I do love my ice cream so that is hard to stay away from, but I am not afraid to treat myself if I have worked out hard that day. I mainly rely on exercise to stay in shape, but eating healthy is important to me as well.
